Details
The Sleeveless Tunic Top sewing pattern has the Ann-Normandy Patterns flattering signature semi-fitted square neckline, and angled armscyes. The A-Line loose fitting bodice and two vents give you ease and comfort in wearing the top. As with all Ann Normandy Design PDF sewing patterns, flat felled seams are used in the construction not only for a finished couture detail, but for stability and structure. Bindings are used for crisp finished angles on the neckline and armscye. This pattern contains approachable couture details that an advanced beginner will learn to sew.

Sizing
The size range of the Sleeveless Top Tunic PDF sewing pattern is XS – 2X, it includes two new sizes to our collection, extra small and 2X. The bust is drafted with a C Cup and in an extra XL. To achieve optimal fit in the bust and armscye, please measure your upper bust, by running the measuring tape from the under arm across and above the breast.

Designed for the advanced or the adventurous beginner sewist, with clear concise step by step instructions and photos. Fabric Pairing
Pair it with your favorite mid to heavy weight woven such as linen or denim or a woven blend to wear during hot summer days, or dress it up with structured silk fabric such as shantung, dupioni or raw silk for the perfect evening look. Only 2 yards (with 45” wide fabric) or less (1½ yard for 60” wide fabric) is needed to create this boutique quality top. A lighter weight fabric can be used with a lining or underlining and instructions are included on our blog for this technique.
Get a little creative with your Sleeveless Top and sew it with a reclaimed fabric such as the handwoven 19th century antique French linen used in the sample our model, Stefanie is wearing. As you can see, there is a horizontal seam at the top of the Sleeveless Top. That seam was created by the weaver of the textile. This fabric was woven on a loom 19” wide. Two bolts were sewing together lengthwise to create a larger piece of fabric that was most likely used for a tablecloth, curtain or bed covering.
Embellish
Want to dress up the top more? Consider adding a bow with a silk satin ribbon connected at the corner of the neckline. Or add an embroidered, or beaded border around the neckline.
What to wear with it
Ann Normandy Design’s Pant sewing pattern or Bermuda Shorts sewing pattern pair beautifully with the Sleeveless Top sewing pattern to create a chic outfit for warm weather. It can also be worn with straight leg pants, full leg pants, leggings, and pencil, or A line skirts. Layer it with a linen duster or simple cardigan. It’s a tunic top that will go well with almost anything in your closet. It skims your shape, it’s not clingy, and in a heavyweight linen fabric, the tunic top sewing pattern will be comfortable to wear year-round. It’ll go well over your favorite wide leg or skinny leg jeans and under your favorite long or medium length coatigan, duster, cardigan or blazer.
About PDF Sewing Patterns
The Sleeveless Top pattern is a PDF sewing pattern and comes in three different file options for you to choose which way you would like to print it. Full Scale is to be printed with a large format printer that you would find at your local print shop. If you’re new to PDF sewing patterns are not sure how to print patterns, I have created video tutorials on how to use, download and print PDF sewing patterns. You will also find a print-at-home version as well for those sewists that like instant gratification.
